The scope of this ball was feeling almost overwhelming, so David Garrett and I, with a few martinis, found a corner close to where the Beatles were playing. Their rendition of Mr. Moonlight was the perfect love song for this night of the beautiful moon.
As we gathered around a table, we noticed John Cleese and Eric Idle at the table behind us. They were acting very silly. Both had been drinking and were bloody hysterical.
Kate Winslet passing by the table, pretended not to notice their crazy antics. Still, all of us broke out in uproarious laughter when John and Eric stood up and took to the dance floor ...... together.
By the time these two arrived, a round of smoked salmon and caviar was being served and the silly antics became more subdued for a bit.
Finishing our plates of salmon and cavier, we wandered out to the terrace to peek at the moon.
See the blog below this one to view Linda's gown and shoes and to experience some of the talents of her "hot" date.

Such excitement, Linda! I would love to sit in a corner with you and these delightful people. I hope you will be sure to stop by Leo's and my corner for a little Russian waltzing and conversing!
ReplyDeleteOh, Ruth!! What a lovely invitation. Please join us for a bite of smoked salmon and some riotous laughter before we go waltzing with Russians. Perhaps John Cleese and Eric Idle will come along to converse and waltz with Leo and you. :)

ReplyDeleteTabor, It's Tess who puts me up to this!! This is quite an interesting life alright. I hope you are well. I will be over to visit you in a bit.... when I wake up. Lindsay was up barking because the cats next door were howling at the moon.
ReplyDeleteLinda, darling...you look marvelous! If it pleases you, may I have this dance? I am, after all, a pirate at heart...
ReplyDeleteLovely dancing with you M'lady!
ReplyDeleteCarolina...... I loved the dance and the piracy. How exotic! Thank you so much. =D
ReplyDeleteJeffrey...... lovely dancing with you as well, sir. I am looking forward to another voyage around the dance floor a little later perhaps?
ReplyDeleteIs that who I think it is, just entering the room in a cloud of champagne bubbles?
ReplyDeleteI see you in the corner. Come and dance!
ReplyDeleteLinda, thanks for offering to share your date. You're so kind! I may take you up on it later, but in the meantime I think I might check up on what John Cleese and Eric Idle are up to. I've ALWAYS liked Monty Python
ReplyDeleteOh my, why yes.... it is Nancy Shevell!! Sir Paul cannot be far away... how wonderful of them to take a break from honeymooning and stop by. Nancy is with Tess, and she is busy admiring her red feathered ensemble. That is some incredible gown Nance has adorned her bod in, as well.... wouldn't you agree, Martin? It looks like a Stella creation.
ReplyDeleteCharmed to have met you ... yes, Cinderella describes your look to a T!
ReplyDeleteFab! I'm tagging along with you next year....! What a classic gathering!
ReplyDeleteLena.... I like to bring the Brits to the ball... it's rather fun and adds a new dimension to the amazing ambiance Tess always manages to create.

ReplyDeleteI really wish I had sat at your table for a while - my feet are killing me!
ReplyDeleteCarrie, Lovely to meet you too. Thank you for popping in. =D
ReplyDeleteHey Bug, That's always the issue with dancing. After too much, your feet hurt. Rest awhile and I will get some warm wraps for your feet to soothe them. They are scented to help you feel more relaxed.
ReplyDeleteThe Brits were a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bee! I try to do the Brits every year. I missed last year. They add a different dimension. lol
ReplyDeleteReally Appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
